The Register of Insolvencies is the public record of Scottish personal and corporate insolvency kept by the Accountant in Bankruptcy. It records sequestrations, protected trust deeds, trust deed adverts and moratoriums under Scotland’s own insolvency law.

It is kept by the Accountant in Bankruptcy, a Scottish Government executive agency, rather than by a commercial data reseller.

Scotland has its own insolvency law and its own terminology. Sequestration and protected trust deeds have no exact counterpart elsewhere in the United Kingdom, and this register covers Scotland only.
Entries are removed after their statutory retention period, so absence does not prove that a person has never been insolvent.
The register concerns insolvency events. It is not a general assessment of creditworthiness or of business conduct.
