The NMC Register is the statutory register of nurses, midwives and nursing associates maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. A search returns whether a named professional is currently registered, whether their registration carries restrictions, and whether they have been suspended or removed.

It records individuals, not organisations, so it establishes nothing about the employer or care provider a registrant works for.
Registration is a licence to practise. It is not a statement that a registrant is competent, safe or suitable for any particular engagement.
The NMC states that a search cannot be run on a first name alone, so a common surname can be hard to resolve without a PIN.
Coverage of nursing associates is not UK-wide: that part of the register concerns England.
