Research

Studies of search systems, indexing behavior, and crawl architecture.

Scope

Research here focuses on how search systems behave end-to-end — how crawlers discover and re-discover URLs, how indexers store and rank documents, how retrieval systems compose results, and how the web's surface area shapes what becomes findable. Entries are empirical where possible: small experiments, comparisons of observable behavior across engines, and notes on the systems beneath them.

Adjacent work in entity architecture, structured data, and AI-driven retrieval is cross-linked rather than duplicated.
